Jo Colagiacomi

I own a bakery named New Moon Vegan in Batavia, a west Chicago suburb. I am a lifelong lover of food and community, and it is the way I connect with my Italian-American roots. I'm 3rd generation Southern Italian-American from Staten Island NY, and made Chicago my home in 2017. I have worked in kitchens for nearly a decade. The Bear is my favorite show and is the main reason I am creating this profile. I'd love to help portray a realistic kitchen environment based on my experiences in owning the shop, designing the kitchen, overseeing nearly every department/job, placing and receiving orders, being head chef and baker, food prep, dishwashing and cleanup, and having meltdowns and finding peace in the kitchen sometimes all at once. Long days don't bother me, since I am hardly ever in the kitchen for less than 12 hour days!
