Jermeshea Grant
About:
Born and raised in Saint Louis, MO, I was a very shy kid. At the age of 12 or 13, I started singing I was in the Concert Choir at Confluence Academy Old North the director was named Sherry Jones.
In 2012, I remixed Lauryn Hill The Ex-Factor and made it my own to dedicate a song to former President Barack Obama. I got that recording and submitted a CD to the White and months later I received a letter in the mail from Obama and Michelle.
Later on, in my high school years, I went to Grand Center Arts Academy and took up the music pathway. I was in an all-female a cappella group along with a concert choir. I started to compete in the Saint Louis Teen Talent Competition I never got selected to participate but, my last year of competing changed my life.
In 2016, at the time, my parents took some good quality photos of my last performance and I had came across a casting call to be on the hit show called “Empire” I submitted my information and the photos that my parents took of me, I received an email stating that the directors of “Empire” would love for me to be an extra as a “Celebrity” on the red carpet and to come to Chicago, that was season 2 episode 17. Once I came back from being in Chicago, Fox 2 News wanted me to do an interview.
