Janine McGrath

Janine McGrath is Melbourne/Naarm-based actor known for playing the wacky, washed-up TV host Janine Winters on Evenings with Janine for RMITV. Born in Wycheproof, in the Mallee region of Victoria, Janine then grew up in the 'burbs where her first ambitions centered around ballet and theatrical dance. She later moved onto choreography and teaching. Having enjoyed a short spurt as a school teacher, and a long career in the dance world she pivoted toward acting. She's been cast in theatre, television, feature films, short films, vertical series, web series and commercials. Janine cites her childhood literary influences as Perrault's 'The Sleeping Beauty', & writers C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R. Tolkien fantasies. She was fascinated with Disney's 'The Ugly Duckling' and 'Fantasia', along with cinema's 'Epic Theatre', where dragons, witches, and magical creatures came to life on the screen. Janine holds a Diploma of Teaching, a Graduate Diploma of Education (Visual & Performing Arts), and an Advanced Diploma of Dance Teaching (Australian Ballet School). She's studied anatomy and CPR & has a Bronze Medallion for Swimming. She has a current passport, Drivers Licence and Working With Children Check.
