Jamel Robert Ellis, born in Harlem, New York City, discovered his comedic and acting
talents early in life. He earned the affectionate moniker "grandpa" for his wise-beyond-years humor. Born
initially in New York and moved to Richmond, Virginia, when he was a baby. Jamel's journey into comedy
and acting was a natural evolution of his ability to bring laughter to those around him. Now, he has
elevated his gift to his first love, being an actor, allowing Jamel to bring his full gift to the stage
