Glenda Chism-Tamblyn

After graduating from Auburn University with a BFA in Theater Performance, Glenda worked throughout the state of Florida on stage and in film and television as well as murder mysteries. She received critical praise for her turn as Babe in the Tampa Players' production of Crimes of the Heart. Her first feature film job was as photo double and stand-in for Hayley Mills in the Disney Channel's sequel, Parent Trap II, also starring Tom Skerritt. Afterwards, she was cast in the Caldwell Theater's production of Dark At the Top of the Stairs as Reenie, a character half her age. She was selected to be in the Universal Studios Florida live actor show, Murder, She Wrote Post Production opening cast, which quickly became a crowd favorite and a must-see for all VIP visitors. While there, she worked alongside Wayne Brady and Cheryl Hines. Along came Howard Zieff who saw her potential as Thomas J's Mom in his film, My Girl. She was also cast in Joe Dante's Matinee. After leaving USF, she headed for Los Angeles to further her career, and worked in The Cell and Amber Tamblyn's directorial debut film, Paint It Black. She was elected to Actors Equity's national council and served the membership for 14 years. During this time, she managed her husband's band, The Standells, during the resurgence of interest bolstered by the Boston Red Sox' World Series season, as they play their hit song, "Dirty Water", after every home win at Fenway. This included booking and road managing their tour through Europe and to various gigs in the States. She also worked in the position of Stage Assistant for the city of Palmdale at the Palmdale Playhouse, where she was able to use her theater training full-scale, including stage management, scenic painter, costumer, assistant house manager, concessions, box office, prop designer and master. During COVID, she and her husband, Larry, decided to move to Georgia to explore film and television opportunities.
