About:
I did improv acting for several years in high school and I loved it. I was good. My dream was to be an actor. But I was also insecure. So naturally I went to the Marines to become tough enough that no one could penetrate the fortress of my dying heart. After the military I did waiting and construction and things I certainly won't mention on a job networking website (but which I do detail on my personal website... I'm also a memoirist!). Finally, in my late 20's I decided to go back to school having found the girl I wanted to marry and make a life with. I studied engineering because I was bad at math and I wanted to read about string theory without glossing over the the equations and I wanted to prove I could learn anything and do anything I "willed". I I did excel in academics the second time around (high school was a disaster). I published peer-reviewed papers as an undergrad. Multiple schools talked to me about pursuing a PHD. But I couldn't. We just had our first child and my wife had propped us up for too long. So I worked a job for a decade that I didn't love because I felt pressured to support my family. Today I am fine tuning this bio while sitting on set as an extra in a major production. I am finally doing something I am actually good at. Or rather, that I was born good at. Granted I don't remain merely an extra very long, I just started applying for stuff... I'm a leading man. I'm manifesting getting "discovered." Im manifesting my kids being proud of me. I'm manifesting showing them how to follow their dreams and how be confident and how to not settle. God damn it, I'm manifesting seeing them again. Nasty divorce. In this space I'd like to play characters with depth and honesty. And give the audience that sense that one isn't watching a film. I think there's a word for I'm thinking of. Believability. Or conviction. That's the ticket. I'd use one of the two words to describe my acting ethos.
