About:
Carlos Cameron is an interdisciplinary performing artist, or as he likes to call himself, a “performing monster”. He’s originally from Port Angeles, Washington, and moved to Los Angeles in 2021 to pursue his goals of being a part of the new wave of performing artistry. While he did Musical Theatre in High School, performing as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors was a highlight, his real love is rock and pop music. Mostly focusing on songwriting, he produces most of his music by himself, and writes every lyric. Over the years he has been influenced by many different musical artists, that push him to be greater and shape his own sound. From the heavy metal of Rob Zombie and Iron Maiden, to the electronic worlds of Charli XCX and Grimes, and the lifelong influences of Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey. He also has big goals in TV and film, pursuing a career focusing on developing horror feature films and TV, citing filmmakers like Wes Craven and John Carpenter as his idols. He grew up watching classic horror and sci-fi with his grandfather and movies like Gojira and Creature from the Black Lagoon have left lasting impressions, his love of monsters sticking with him to this day. One of his all-time favorite horror films is Scream, and it has been the biggest push for him to write and create his own original horror stories to be brought to life on screen one day. He desperately wants more LGBTQ+ representation in horror films, and figures that if he’s not seeing the stuff he wants to see, then he’s just going to create it himself. Carlos has slowly been building a resume of background work, mainly short films, including; Fight Like a Mother, Stalled, Death and Ramen, and Harpies. He also had the opportunity to be featured in an episode of the webseries Love Hotline, hosted by Rupaul’s Drag Race alumni JuJubee and Thorgy Thor. When he isn’t making music or attending classes to work his craft, you can find him in his apartment alone reading comic books. Some of his favorite reads have been The New 52 run of Batman by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang, and Harley Quinn by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. He spends a lot of time living in the world of DC, with hopes to play a version of Robin in live-action someday.
