Craig A. Kirkland, professionally known as Amaziyah The Great, is an award-nominated poet, spoken word artist, author, and filmmaker. Originally from Spanish Town, Jamaica, he now resides in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Amaziyah The Great has earned recognition both nationally and internationally, receiving a nomination at the National Spoken Word Awards and twice at the prestigious International Reggae and World Music Awards for his powerful poetry performances.
In 2024, he was honored with the Rhode Island ICON Award for his short film The Jamaican Poet in the Province, produced for the Providence 48 Hour Film Project competition. Beyond the stage and screen, he is also the author of Don’t Cry (available on Amazon), further showcasing his diverse talent and dedication to storytelling.
