Christopher Jackson

Native to Queens, NY, Bwoy,Leven is a multi-disciplinary creative, whose style and sound is heavily influenced by his Caribbean and southern heritage. At age 11, Leven began performing in a variety of school bands and ensembles. His passion for Jazz standards and Singer/Songwriters like Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys, motivated him to self-learn piano. After learning about FL Studio in his high school band class, Leven began making beats using a midi keyboard with a group of musicians from class. By this time, Leven participated in all of his schools arts programs including Theatre, Band, and Chorus, and was chosen as the lead performer for his high school graduation ceremony. He produced and recorded his first EP, while attending the HBCU, Claflin University. This first fully solo produced project, blended jazz, reggae, pop, and hip-hop elements. Leven would receive his first introduction into the music industry as an intern for Tree Sounds Studios in Georgia. Witnessing the work ethic of some of the top artist in the game and meeting amazing creatives all over Atlanta shaped his perspective of the industry and gave him insight on how to fuse all of his sounds together in a cohesive way. In his career, Bwoy,Leven has had the esteemed pleasure of performing for Grammy Award Winner - Lalah Hathaway, Vernon Winfrey(Oprah’s Father), Jason Marsalis, Skipp Pearson, and Fantasia Barrino. Leven continues to explore new avenues to reinvent his sound fusing folk, jazz, and urban styles, for transformative experience at the collision of Music and art.
