A month before, the state’s association of media broadcasters (LAB) honored him with their 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award. He began his illustrious career as a sports anchor and reporter in three Louisiana TV markets, then transitioned from sports anchor to Top Ten market news anchor in five years. He spent a decade anchoring and reporting news in Los Angeles and San Diego before returning to his home state of Louisiana, He may be the only news anchor to ever skydive during a LIVE broadcast and report about it during his descent. He has also covered hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, oil spills, theatre shootings, Presidents and a Pope. His on-going coverage of the devastating land loss on Louisiana’s coast garnered him a special achievement award from America’s Wetland Foundation and the mayor of Baton Rouge named Moreau Honorary Chair of the city’s Bicentennial Celebration in 2017.
