About:
AMBER RUBARTH
Artist • Composer • Actor • Writer
Amber Rubarth is a rare triple-threat: a critically acclaimed recording artist with a two-decade global touring career, a working film composer whose music has scored a Sundance-winning documentary, and a natural, camera-ready actor who carried a theater-released feature film as its co-lead in her acting debut. She is also currently developing her first book. Already fluent in all three lanes — acting, music, and literary — with press, festival wins, and sync placements to back up each one, Amber is actively expanding in all three directions at once.

THE BOOK
Amber is a gifted prose writer — fans and other authors have long urged her toward long-form writing, and she is now actively developing her first book telling her unique story behind the scenes.
Before she ever stood beside Jason Mraz at a single microphone, singing a song they'd written together to a sold-out Carnegie Hall, Amber was a young girl at the piano, writing songs as a way to process grief, particularly around her mother’s mental illness and departure. That private artistry became her sanctuary: first at the piano, performing only when no one was home; then, at 17, a move to Carson City, Nevada to apprentice as a chainsaw sculptor, learning to find shape and life inside raw, felled wood. Four years later she traded the chainsaw for a guitar, living out of her car and on trains, following roads and rail lines across the US and Europe as she performed her original songs. Along the way, a director found a video of her singing online and cast her to star in a feature film. Other important stops included weeks spent in the South African bush, and in plant medicine ceremonies that helped transform survival into healing and awaken her interconnectivity with the natural world. Her memoir traces this unlikely arc — like something dormant finally reaching light -– from a protective space of hiding into true connection and offering.
