Amanda-Marie is a teen model of Belizean and Malaysian decent from New York City who aspires to establish a career as a super model and fashion designer. Amanda-Marie believes that once established, her fashion career will allow her to travel the world and influence youth with her philanthropy. Her first modeling opportunity came about when she was scouted out by a modeling representative from New York Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting while shopping in a clothing store. Soon after graduating from Barbizon, her modeling career took off. Amanda-Marie’s love of fashion was sparked when she began taking fashion design courses at the New York Fashion Institute. She spent her summers taking courses in the Pre-College fashion design program. Amanda-Marie is a visionary who takes pride in her work, and in bringing a designers vision to life on the runway and in photoshoots. When asked why she loves to model, she always says, "Modeling is an inspiration. It fills me with strength and confidence that motivates me to work harder. I know the hard work that designers put into every detail of their pieces. I see myself as a canvas that bring each designers visions to life on the runway. I know modeling is my passion and I want to pursue all the opportunities and benefits modeling offers.”
Amanda-Marie plans to use her fashion platform and proceeds from earnings to bring about awareness regarding lung cancer. She would like to raise money to find a cure and help those in financial need for medications and additional medical resources. Her passion to find a cure for lung cancer is fueled by the tragic loss of her grandmother. Amanda-Marie’s grandmother always encouraged her to persevere though life's challenges and always share her blessings with those less fortunate. It is Amanda's dream to one day use her own fashion designs and modeling agency to offer all people, including those with special needs and those who suffer from chronic diseases, and their families the opportunity to be fully included in the world of fashion. She plans to do this by producing fashion shows in which they will be given an opportunity to model and do print work.
