About:
Amanda Fair Jens is a graduate of Knox College in Galesburg, IL ('24) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree - Double Major in Theatre and Music, an alumna of Sigma Alpha Iota, Psi Chapter, and a member of Chicago's Musicians Club of Women. Amanda completed a senior voice recital toward her undergraduate degree on May 19, 2024.
She was born in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of opera singers and grew up in Louisville, KY. She has also lived, worked and studied in Greensboro, NC.
Amanda is the recipient of the 2024 International Clara Schumann Competition's Fourth Prize - Voice Professional Category and a three-time recipient of Knox College's Colton Prize for Excellence in Theatre Performance : first place, 2002, for the role of Ruth in Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit," 2003 for the role of Josie in Eugene O'Neill's "A Moon for the Misebegotten" and runner-up in 2004 for the role of Hecuba in Euripides' "The Trojan Women."
Amanda believes adamantly in the power of the arts and artistic process to shape and transform individuals and communities for the greater good.
Willing to discuss a range of relevant topics for the purpose of inspiring community strength, awareness and social change, in an informed and responsible way.
