Al Martin
About:
Al Martin is an actor born and raised on the west side of Detroit, Michigan. Martin is known for his drama/action roles but has also flexed versatility in his budding career. He portrays the wild and charismatic character of “Rashad” in the Ken Nelson-directed Amazon Prime anthology series entitled “I Vow.” That role led to a co-star appearance in the Nadia Redd production “I Loved You More”, set to release soon. Martin will also have a role in the upcoming film “Chedda Boys”, which profiles the famed hip hop group of the same name.
Most recently, Al can be seen playing co-lead in “Relationship Goals”, which is a part of the Instagram curated multimedia series Darker Than Blu (drkrthanblu), as well as “Langston Harris” in the Jeremiah Lewis action/drama read of “Arbitrage".
Martin places an emphasis on inspiring audiences who are lost and enduring hardships. That is a personal journey throughout his life as someone who has grown up in an economically challenged city, like Detroit, and as the son of divorced parents. Martin relies on his unwavering faith, cultivated throughout his life by his loving grandparents. That faith is on display in the characters he embodies, sending a message that pain and tribulation are temporary. Optimism and hard work are the pillars of his work, and those who watch Martin on screen gravitate toward those trademarks. Martin’s performances aim to reflect the soul of every person who is striving to overcome.
