Megan Fox Reveals Getting Fired From ‘Transformers’ Was a “Low-Point”

Date:

Megan Fox was fired from Transformers in 2011, after becoming one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood in 2007. 10 years later, Fox, has admitted she regrets the behavior that led up to her leaving the franchise, even describing it as a “low point” in her acting career.

Megan was replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the third movie, she admits: ‘That was absolutely the low point of my career. But without – ‘that thing’ – I wouldn’t have learned as quickly as I did. All I had to do was apologise – and I refused. I was so self-righteous at 23, I couldn’t see [that] it was for the greater good. I really thought I was Joan of Arc.”

Megan Fox added that she doesn’t “bleed for the craft” like other actors. “I would never pick work over life,’ she admitted honestly. ‘I’m the least ambitious actress! I pick movies that’ll be fun to make. I’m not here to suffer for the art of movie-making or ‘bleed for the craft.’ And I’m not going to be an actress forever. I’ve always known I have another calling.”

That said, she revealed she does get tired of getting type-cast for certain roles. “I still get offered a lot of ‘genius strippers’ and ‘funny escorts’ by guys in the business,’ she admitted. ‘But I don’t want to be involved with something genuinely degrading. Or that [which] encourages negative sexual ideals about women. Old-school male attitudes towards women – it’s still in all the adverts. When my kids grow up, hopefully that attitude will be gone.”

Despite everything, Megan Fox says she does not regret the roles she’s played. I’m not ashamed of sexy poses or parts. Women shouldn’t go out of their way to be dowdy. Being feminine is a very sexy thing.”

Megan Fox was fired after she compared director Michael Bay to Hitler, and was rumored for her exit at the request of executive producer Steven Spielberg. At the time she told Wonderland magazine what it was like to work with Bay.

“He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant. Shia [LaBeouf] and I almost die when we make a Transformers movie. He has you do some really insane things that insurance would never let you do.”
