Job Description:
A new 2026 dance production is seeking emerging professional and strong pre-professional contemporary dancers to join an upcoming creative project. This opportunity leads to a major premiere and calls for performers with expressive movement quality, strong technical ability, and a willingness to explore innovative choreography. Dancers will collaborate in a process that blends contemporary technique with improvisation and mechanical movement textures.
Job Responsibilities:

Rehearse weekly on Sundays and one weekday evening from January to March

Participate in the creation of new choreography and movement tasks

Explore contrasting textures, dynamic shifts, and mechanical movement qualities

Collaborate closely with the creative team throughout the rehearsal process

Bring strong technique, versatility, and professionalism to the production
Requirements:

Contemporary dancers age 18+

Strong contemporary technique and improvisation skills

Comfortable with creative tasking and experimental movement

Ability to embody contrasting textures and mechanical movement styles

Minimum two years of full-time dance training or equivalent experience

Requirements
- Female talent ages 8–10
- Experience in lyrical, contemporary, or expressive dance preferred
- Strong ability to communicate through movement and performance
- Comfortable working on camera
- Horse riding experience is a plus but not required
- Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when required
- Reliable and able to follow creative direction
Compensation
- $500 AUD talent fee
