Job Description:

Lara Manwaring Casting is seeking individuals to play supporting roles in an upcoming BBC feature film about mental health. The film aims to create an authentic and positive portrayal of mental health, avoiding stigma. The shoot will take place in London this September.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray characters with authenticity and sensitivity, reflecting lived experiences related to mental health.

  • Participate in various scenes as directed by the production team.

  • Follow the directions of the director and production team to ensure a realistic and engaging performance.

  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude throughout the filming process.

Requirements:

  • People with lived experience of hearing voices.

  • People who have been facilitators in a Hearing Voices group.

  • No previous acting experience is needed.

  • Must be based in or able to travel to London for the filming.

Compensation:

  • All selected participants will be paid for their involvement in the film (specific compensation details will be provided upon selection).

An upcoming feature film is seeking an outstanding male lead actor for a character-driven role filming in the UK. Casting is specifically looking for a gay LGBTQ+ actor who is Irish or can deliver an authentic Irish accent, ideally with ties to the Irish Traveller community. Real boxing skills are required for the role, so performers with genuine fight training and ring experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform as the lead character in a feature film with emotional range and strong screen presence

  • Deliver an authentic Irish accent consistently across scenes

  • Perform boxing action safely and believably using real boxing technique

  • Collaborate with directors and scene partners, taking adjustments quickly

  • Maintain continuity in performance, physicality, and character choices throughout production

Requirements

  • Male actor, ages 25–30

  • White

  • Gay LGBTQ+ actor

  • Irish or able to perform an authentic Irish accent

  • From the Irish Traveller community strongly preferred

  • Real boxing skills and experience required

  • Must be able to work in the UK

Compensation
