The Role:

We’re looking for a creative leader to bring to life the Crater brand in the world. You’re a culture follower, culture-maker and obsessed with creators and what they bring to the world. As a self-starter, you love to do the work as well as come up with big ideas. Crater is just getting started so you’ll have the chance to build your team while partnering with the head of product design and their team. You’ll have a background in conceptual creative direction, branding and design systems, as well as an understanding of how to bring a brand to life through campaigns, experiences, social and product. You will partner and report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the creation and execution of the Crater brand, bringing it to life in the world
  • Create culture-moving ideas that connects creators with Crater
  • Build and then manage a team to deliver their best work, finding new ways to push the limits of themselves and our brand expression
  • Be the voice of the creative brand; influence decisions across the company
  • Bring the POV of the brand to life through a vibrant brand identity, system, voice and tone across all experiences
  • Partner with product to incorporate the brand into the development of tools and how the brand would take shape in the user experience
  • Be creator obsessed – know what’s happening in culture, what’s coming next and bring the brand as a leader and into the conversation in impactful ways
  • Concept and execute marketing activations from campaigns to social as well as materials across creator marketing, sales, biz dev and investor relations
  • Be the brand champion – responsible and accountable for the quality of the brand output.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in the creative industry with strong design skills
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Highly conceptual with experience being the creative lead on integrated marketing campaigns
  • Experience managing the creatives across design, copywriting and motion
  • Passion for and experience working in the Creator industry or working closely with creators on campaigns
  • Deep understanding of brand with the ability to tell a powerful story through creative
  • Passion for creating systems and brand guidelines that flex with culture and expand to new audiences
  • Experience conceptualizing and activating creative social media campaigns in partnership with community manager
  • Strong technical design skills across animation tools, Photoshop, After Effects, XD and Figma with the ability to teach these to junior team members
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence creative execution across teams to be in-line with the overall brand guidelines

  • You are a creator which will give you an insider understanding of the audience you are serving.
  • Analytical skills and ability to make creative recommendations based on data

At Crater, we believe in leveraging our hiring process as a way to support transparency. The annual base salary band for this opportunity is ($150k – 190k). Our job offer compensation philosophy, which impacts actual compensation, is based on a number of important factors including, but not limited to, internal and market equity, financial budgets, and the individual’s skills, qualifications, experience and education.

Published annual base salary bands do not include individual variable compensation opportunities, such as annual merit increases, bonus eligibility, commission, or equity incentives.

A non-union independent short film is casting supporting and background roles for a story centered around Ash, a biracial sorority girl navigating identity and belonging within her university’s Greek life. When racist images appear at a house party, Ash is confronted with the realities of her environment and her place within it. Filming will take place in Richmond, VA from December 2–6, 2025.
