CASTING PEOPLE WHO CARE FOR A SENIOR (65+) IN THE GREATER TORONTO AREA TO APPEAR IN A TOUCHING MEDICAL ALERT DEVICE COMMERCIAL FOR A MAJOR CANADIAN BRAND!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND ONLY APPLY IF YOU FIT THE CRITERIA. NOTE THAT BOTH YOU AND THE SENIOR YOU ARE APPLYING WITH MUST BE FULLY IMMUNIZED AGAINST COVID-19 IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE.

We’re seeking individuals, ages 30-60, in the Greater Toronto Area who care for a senior 65 years of age or over. The senior could be a family member or close friend. We are open to hearing from individuals and caregivers who support a senior medically, administratively and/or emotionally. Please note that we are not looking for PSWs/nurses or medical professionals, we are looking for people who have a personal connection with a senior.

Do you care for a family member or friend? Do you check in regularly with a loved one or neighbour, or spend quality time with them? Do you want to tell a senior how much you care about them and their safety? If so, we want to hear from you!

 

PLEASE NOTE:

– All notes below apply to you and the senior you are applying with.

– This is a non-union project. No acting experience is required, however, you should be outgoing and comfortable being filmed and interviewed.

– Strict COVID-19 safety protocol will be adhered to during the production of this commercial and it will be produced in accordance with public health guidelines at the time of filming. For more information, please visit: https://www.theaccp.tv/

– To apply, you MUST be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

– If shortlisted, you MUST be available for a brief online interview with the director on December 1st.

– If selected, you MUST be available for a COVID test between December 2nd-6th. You will only be required briefly on one day.

– If selected, you MUST be available for filming during the week of December 6th. You will only be required on one day, but must keep all the dates available until booked.

– If booked, you will each receive $75 for a covid test appointment and $1,000 for one day of filming. If your footage is in the final commercial, you will receive an additional $1,000.

  2. Baseball Pitcher Body Double:
    • Male, any ethnicity, aged 20–40.
    • Experienced pitcher with excellent velocity and control.
    • Extensive baseball experience (Minors, Pro Ball, NCAA, Canadian College).
    • Must be 6’0” or taller.
    • Left or right-handed pitchers are welcome.

Compensation:

  • $1,000 per person if selected.
  • No conflict applies to body doubles.

We are casting for the role of Mikayla, a significant child role in the mini-series, The Bank Teller. Mikayla is a young girl, aged between 8 to 10 years old, of African descent. This character is key to the storyline, and we are looking for a talented young actress who can bring authenticity, innocence, and emotional depth to the role. All applicants must be able to speak with a general American accent.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Character Portrayal: Play Mikayla with charm and sincerity, reflecting the emotions and experiences of a young child in the story.
  • Collaboration: Work well with the director, co-stars, and production team to create engaging and authentic scenes.
  • Dialogue Delivery: Ensure lines are delivered naturally and with the required emotion, appropriate to the character’s age and situation.
  • Adaptability: Be open to direction and capable of adjusting performance based on the director’s feedback.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Open to ACTRA and ACTRA Apprentice members. Prior acting experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Accent: Must perform with a general American accent.
  • Appearance: Female, Black, aged 8-10 years.
  • Location: Quebec locals only (applicants must reside in or near Quebec as the shoot will take place in this area).
  • Parental Consent: Since this is a child role, parental consent and presence on set are required for all shoot days.

Compensation:

  • Rate: $150 per episode (ACTRA MIP).
  • Episodes: 4-episode series.
