Communications Director, Reality Labs Products and Research

Meta is searching for an experienced leader to join the Reality Labs (RL) communications team. The Director of Reality Labs Communications, Product and Research will be responsible for driving communications strategy for Meta’s portfolio of VR, AR and XR products including Quest VR, Ray-Ban Stories, Spark AR, wrist wearables, AR glasses and more. They will also support the groundbreaking technologies coming from the Reality Labs Research teams. This is a high visibility role within Meta’s Communications and Public Affairs Organization.The ideal candidate is someone who can drive high-impact programs, lead a team of exceptional communications professionals and partner closely with experienced product executives to set strategy. A passion for AR/VR/XR technology and the ability to move fast in fluid situations is key for this role. This individual excels at leading cross-functional work across the company, has experience working on consumer hardware products, and can consistently deliver high-quality work.

Communications Director, Reality Labs Products and Research Responsibilities:

  • Drive communications strategy across the VR, AR, XR and Research teams within Reality Labs
  • Manage proactive and reactive comms around product privacy, safety and integrity topics
  • lead on crisis communications responses
  • Work with go-to-market teams including product, marketing and sales on product launch strategy and execution
  • Work cross functionally across the broader Meta communications team to deliver on key company moments
  • Help drive narrative and media relations around tentpole moments like Connect (Meta’s annual AR/VR conference)
  • Participate in leadership meetings to provide counsel on future products and tech

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years of consumer technology communications experience
  • People management experience
  • Experience creating and executing media campaigns, building relationships with media and working with executives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in communications or public relations
  • Experience working on hardware product launches
  • Experience working with research teams and distilling complex topics for broad audiences
  • Experience working at a technology company
