We are looking for music educators to join our Music Education Services department for teaching positions! This role will provide music instruction at local schools. Ideal educators will have a passion for teaching music and a high level of energy. Interviewing now for Fall 23 School Year!

Essential Functions (not all-inclusive):

  • Teach music classes in schools both in group settings and in one-on-one settings based on contracts with each school. Class sizes vary from a few students to over 50 kids.
  • Use recruiting tools, set up instrument testing events, recruitment nights, and other programs to entice kids at a school to join the band/orchestra program. This may require on-site activities after school hours.
  • Prepare lesson plans, curriculum and benchmarking for all students, report on the progress of students against those benchmarks via progress reports and report cards. Benchmarks for each instrument and experience level will be provided.
  • Maintain quality relationships with school administration and principals to secure schedules for classes, notify schools of changes to classes or schedules, and notify the office if students are not attending or have other issues in class.
  • Coordinate concerts, solo & ensemble activities, and other events and performances to engage with students and parents.
  • Work with retail store and education representatives to make sure students have the instrument and supplies necessary to be successful in class.
  • Teach summer lessons and continuing education activity to students that wish to continue over the summer.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

To join our band, you’ll need the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required in Music Education
  • 3-5 years of music teacher experience (new grads may be considered with required completion of internal training and mentoring programs)
  • State Teaching license required
  • Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance

Temp Art Director

Overview of Position:

The Art Director for Global Creative Lab works under the Associate Creative Director to

develop creative for all GCL projects, including (but not limited to) seasonal product

marketing campaigns, global brand projects, new store openings, global brand

ambassador creative, collaborations, and other special projects. Art Director must be

able to own, lead, and present projects to internal and external clients and partners.

Creative for these campaigns is developed primarily for In-store signs, and various

forms of digital media (social, e-commerce, adverts, etc.).

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates excellent presentation skills, with a particular competency in

storytelling and articulating creative ideas to non-creatives. Must have an

understanding how a story best unfolds, in print and on screen.

• Must be an excellent collaborator with strong interpersonal, communication, and

team skills—working daily with designers, writers, strategists, and brand teams.

• Contributes to creative campaign development through sophisticated

storytelling, design explorations, and image/cultural references.

• Occasional support with on-set art direction of photo and video shoots.

• Follows productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving

operational problems; identifying work process improvements.

• Demonstrates competency with client pitch, presentation, and approval process,

with an open and constructive attitude to feedback and requests.

• Continually improves quality of work by studying, evaluating, and re-designing

processes to implement positive changes.

• An openness and willingness to learn the UNIQLO brand and business over

time.

Qualifications:

• BA in Graphic Design or related field.

• 6-8 years of print and digital design experience; preferably at a creative agency

• Strong sense of type and design.

• A broad portfolio which demonstrates expertise across a range of platforms.

• An appreciation in fashion trends and aesthetics.

• Interest or passion in fashion, design, photography, and related areas.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Experience using: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and multi-media programs as

needed.

• Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal) are a

must.

• Organizational skills and attention to details are essential.

• Proven experience with art direction, branding design, and advertising layout.

• Ability to occasionally travel for photo shoots and meetings, etc.

Salary: $90 – $110 per hour

Position Overview

The Art Director will be responsible for elevating the Surya brand and developing industry-leading content for web, print and social media campaigns.   • Proficient with MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of the full creative process including video, audio and motion on shoots and post-production
  • Can balance creative with business goals and work cross-functionally while maintaining quality and consistency across all output

My digital tech & right hand man Isaac Schell is shooting a personal project and we are looking for the “characters” – 

The project will be shown to gallerists and/or art & photography publications in hope of getting them shown to a wider audience in a fine art context.  

DETAILS:

Date: April 15 & 16 

Location: Studio in Bed-Stuy with set built to look like an old dive bar.

Rate: $150 for the shoot 

Time: We will be shooting talent individually and will schedule 2-3 hrs per person, probably two people in the morning, crew break for lunch, then two-three people in the evening. 

Meals: We will provide snacks, drinks, coffee, water. 

Travel:We will provide Uber for the  “Ma” character. 

Casting Brief: 

  • “Ma” – Bar proprietor, old white woman, short, rail thin, puffy white hair, coke bottle glasses, Estelle Getty/Sophia Petrillo
  • Lynn – Bar manager, middle-aged woman, long dark hair and brown eyes.
  • Daughter #1 – A smaller, younger, shorter version of Lynn, in her mid-late 20’s, with dark hair, dark eyes.
  • Daughter #2 – Also a smaller, younger version of Lynn, although she is tall and leaner than her sister. 
  • Dancers – (Burlesque Type) Must be comfortable being photographed partially nude. Photographed in a scenario right before dancing and right after. Focus on off moments after the dance. Sitting at the bar having a drink alone in their costume, in street clothes.
