12 Years a Slave director is holding an open casting call in New York City
The director of Oscar award winning movie, ‘12 Years a Slave,’ Steve McQueen is holding an open casting call this weekend in New York City.
According to Indiewire, the award winning director will be holding an open casting call in New York City this weekend for his new HBO TV series.
According to reports, Steve McQueen co-wrote a script with Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z) that centers on “a young African-American man’s experience entering New York high society, with a past that may not be what it seems … ‘Six Degrees of Separation meets Shame.’”
Earlier this year, casting directors posted a casting call for a leading role in the TV series. Now McQueen is looking for additional talent to work on the upcoming HBO TV series.
Casting director Cindy Tolan will run the open casting call. According to Tolan, “No experience is necessary. They are just looking for a quality individual.”
Producers are looking for all black men between the ages of 20 to 40 to attend the open casting call. Casting directors are also looking for dancers, musicians, and anyone interested in being a part of the feature film.
The open casting call will be held this Saturday, August 23rd at the Harlem School for the Arts, located at 645 Saint Nicholas Ave. in New York City, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
