Maze Runner: Scorch Trials, is based on the second novel in James Dashner’s Maze Runner book series. The sequel to ‘The Maze Runners: Scorch Trials’ centers around the Gladers that have escaped the Maze, but now they face an even more treacherous challenge on the open roads of a devastated planet.

Filming for Maze Runner 2 will take place in and around Albuquerque starting late October 2014 through January 2015. The production company is set to hire 250 New Mexico crew members, 18 New Mexico actors, and nearly 1,800 local background talent.

The Scorch Trials is based on the book written by James Dashner, and features Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf), Ki Hong Lee (She Has a Boyfriend), Kaya Scodelario (Moon), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones), Dexter Darden (Cadillac Records), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Patricia Clarkson (Shutter Island) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Fast & Furious 7).
