The New York Television Tru-TV Comedy Breakout Initiative is looking for comedic creators who are interested in gaining exposure, awards and development deals with Lionsgate, NatGeo, the Travel Channel, and Sundance Channel, to name a few.

What is truTV looking for?
Talent/Creator-Driven Comedy Formats with Distinct POVs and High Production Quality.
truTV is partnering with the NYTVF to find the next generation of distinct comedic voices to create unscripted comedy-based formats. Through the truTV Comedy Breakout Initiative, an outstanding content creator will be chosen to develop a project in partnership with truTV.
For inspiration, submitters are encouraged to check out existing truTV original programming, including Impractical Jokers, Adam Ruins Everything, Talk Show the Game Show, The Carbonaro Effect, Hack My Life, The Chris Gethard Show, Comedy Knockout, and Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks.
