Chris Pratt opens up about going against Brad Pitt and how great directors manipulate actors behind the scenes.
Before becoming an A-list actor, Guardian of the Galaxy and a dinosaur trainer in Jurassic World, Chris Pratt had a pretty small role in the award-winning movie Moneyball.
In a 2011 interview, Chris Pratt revealed that he was too fat for the movie role but, that didn’t stop the actor. “My agent called me and said, ‘Chris, they really thought you were good, but they think you’re too fat,’” Prat remembered. “I was like, ‘F*ck, really? That sucks. OK, well, I can lose weight. Did you tell them I could lose weight?’ ‘Yeah, we told them. They haven’t offered it to anyone else. There’s no guarantee, but…’… It was another three months before I found out I got the role, but in that three months I think I dropped 30 pounds. I was bound and determined to become Scott Hatteberg whether they cast me or not.”
However, things were not easy when he walked on set of Moneyball. In a newly resurfaced interview, Chris Pratt revealed how the movie’s director Bennett Miller manipulated him between takes in order to make Moneyball the amazing film that it is.
Now that is great filmmaking.
