HBO halts production of David Fincher’s new TV show ‘Video Synchroncity’
David Fincher’s upcoming HBO comedy series “Video Synchroncity” – a show we shared several open casting calls for – has abruptly shut down production on Thursday after filming only four episodes.
According to the NYPost, the future of Video Synchroncity” is unclear as the show may have to undergo creative retooling.
“Video Synchroncity” is set in Los Angeles in 1983 and looks at the exploding music video industry through the eyes of a newcomer, Robby (Charlie Rowe), an aspiring filmmaker who lands a job working on music videos.
David Fincher — who has directed music videos for Justin Timberlake and Madonna — was set to direct several of the 10 ordered episodes. David Fincher has a reputation of developing TV shows and movies that never premiere. This may just become another show that we will never see until another thirty years from now.
David Fincher known for having directed the psychological thriller ‘Seven’, ‘Fight Club’, the mystery thrillers ‘Zodiac’ and ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, and the psychological thriller ‘Gone Girl’, as well being pivotal in the creation of the critically acclaimed U.S. television series ‘House of Cards’.
