Did you hate the Walking Dead season 6 finale? Well, you were not alone and now we have scientific proof that millions of people really hated The Walking Dead last Sunday. After weeks of anticipation, teases, and general anticipation that someone was going to killed off The Walking Dead, we got a first person account of Lucille’s victim without an actual payoff. While the ending is highly subjective, like Jay Z once said, “men lie, women lie but, numbers don’t.”

According to social media insight provider Canvs, over 70% of tweets during and directly after the finale were extremely negative. This data is culminated from 292,500 “Emotional Reactions” from 932,308 total tweets. Basically, people really hated the season six finale of The Walking Dead.
“In the closing moments of the finale, the predominant ERs were ‘crazy,’ ‘dislike,’ ‘hate’ and ‘upset,’ accounting for more than 70 per cent of all reactions (vs. 15.2 per cent ‘love’ and 6.4 per cent ‘good’)”
It’s interesting to point out that Daryl Dixon came out in the defense of the cliffhanger episode. While on The Today Show to promote his new movie Sky, in which he stars alongside Diane Kruger, Reedus made a few comments about The Walking Dead. He started off by defending the finale by saying “Cliffhangers have been happening since the beginning of entertainment. That finale was about the change of power. So many people think our show is survivor’s island, who’s gonna eat it this week, but it’s not. That episode was to show the change of power: Rick goes into it real confident, and he comes out totally broken.”

The hour and half season six finale saw Negan’s group, the Saviors, hunt down Rick and the gang. The episode cut to black only to reveal the sounds of Negan beating one of the cast members to death.
The ending of the episode leaves the characters: Rick, Michonne, Glenn, Daryl, Rosita, Carl, Maggie, Aaron, Eugene, Abraham and Sasha in jeopardy.

We will have to wait and see what kind of impact this will have on future seasons of The Walking Dead or, if the zombie drama will continue to allow for these type of episodes to continue to happen despite pissing off millions of people.
