The Rio Olympics ratings dropped significantly following Ryan Lochte’s scandal.
Ryan Lochte’s “robbery” scandal was every where on the news. The idea that an Olympic athlete would get robbed and held at gunpoint was terrifying, which caused for a major uproar against the International Olympic Committee. However, only a few hours later did we discover that Lochte had lied and in a drunken rage vandalized a Rio gas station forcing security guards to handle the wild Olympic Gold medalist. While, everyone thought this was the end of Lochte’s promotional career, it looks as though the news may have hurt the Olympics in general.
