Are you getting ready for The Walking Dead? Are you sick of going to all those gun shows to stock up on your latest firearms?
Well, according to Fast Company, GunTV is coming soon and will allow you to buy guns from the comfort of your living rooms.
GunTV, which is set to launch in California’s Coachella Valley in January, will allow you to buy guns on TV just like the HOme Shopping Network.
The station will be available nationally on satellite and cable providers.
Programming will be limited ot six hours a day, starting at 1 a.m. but, the network’s owners expect to reach 24 hours coverage within a year.
News of a GunTV channel comes after 14 people were killed and 17 wounded in a mass shooting in San Bernadino, California. As the 355th mass shooting in this country so far, the incident has sparked the controversy around guns in the country.
But, the owners of GunTV say they are just meeting the growing demand for guns while giving gun makers a new way to advertise their latest products.
But, there are some legal obstacles when people decided to purchase a gun since it is not at as easy as ordering a Big Mac at McDonalds.
As the Desert Sun explains:
To work within gun laws, GunTV won’t actually sell firearms directly to its viewers. Instead, when a viewer calls GunTV, the network will place an order on behalf of that viewer with Sports South, a Louisiana firearms distributor. Sports South will then ship the weapon to a local gun store, where it can be purchased like normal by the viewer.
