Another background extra was upgraded to a speaking role on the set of Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes.
TW Casting, the extras casting company behind AT&T’s Mr. Mercedes Season 2, revealed on Facebook that a background actor was upgraded to a speaking role this week.
Congrats to Sumner Crawford on being upgraded to a speaking role on Mr. Mercedes Season 2! It was well deserved, especially after all the schedule changes he accommodated! Can’t wait to see what this season has in store for the rest of my awesome extras!
Mr. Mercedes season 2 is now filming in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Mercedes, based on Stephen King’s 2014 book of the same name, follows a demented killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again.
This is not the first time a background actor as upgraded to a speaking role. Recently, on set of Kevin Hart’s new movie Night School, a background actor was also upgraded to a principal speaking role. Tyler Perry also has a history of upgrading background extras to speaking roles.
