Tom Holland may be heading into theaters as Marvel and Sony’s new Peter Parker in the Atlanta-filmed movie Spider-Man: Homecoming – but as a working actor, he still has to make other movies. Sadly, there’s one movie he won’t be apart of, and it could be because of this bizarre audition.
“Often we do strange things for auditions, but I think your audition might be the strangest thing I’ve ever been asked [to do],” Holland told Andy Serkis.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show with Andy Serkis, Holland was asked about the time he auditioned for one of Serkis’ films. The movie does not say which film, but it looks to be The Jungle Book, which Serkis is directing and co-starring in as Baloo. Despite Holland prepared for the audition beforehand, it sounds like he wasn’t prepared for the surprise Serkis threw his way, pretend to be a wolf.
“I did the scene…and [Serkis] said, ‘Thank you, that was great. Now do it as a wolf,’” Holland said. “I’m like, ‘Okay.’ So all I did was this.”
Even though Holland didn’t land a role in the movie, Serkis did tell Holland that his audition was “brilliant.”
