Tom Hardy Reveals He Won’t Do Another Romantic Comedy

Tom Hardy says he will never make another romantic comedy again.

For many people this will be heartbreaking news, actor Tom Hardy says he is done with making romantic comedy movies.

In an interview with Tom Hardy, he revealed how miserable it was making the movie.

“I love to do things I hadn’t done before,” says Hardy. Which explains that one time he tried on the big ol’ studio rom-com This Means War – and, well, hated it.

“I didn’t understand how you could do something which is so much fun and be so miserable doing it,” he says, blaming himself for feeling “other” on set. So consider that box checked. “I probably won’t do a romantic comedy again, do you know what I mean?” [USA Today]

This Means War‘ was a romantic comedy starring Tom Hardy and Chris Pine who play secret agents who compete with each other for Reese Witherspoon. Considering how awful the movie was, it is understandable by Tom Hardy vows to quit doing romcoms.

The interview with USA Today originally centered around his new movie, ‘The Drop’ and is the last movie starring the late, James Gandolfini (The Sopranos).

‘The Drop’ focuses on the an inside look at organized crime’s use of local New York City bars as money-laundering ‘drops’. When lonely Brooklyn bartender Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) uncovers a drop of a different sort in the form of a battered pit bull puppy that he rescues from certain death, he comes into contact with Nadia, a mysterious woman hiding a dark past. ‘The Drop’ is currently in theaters.
