Date:

The ‘Walking Dead’ Season 5 Spoilers: What Happened To Beth in Season 4?

Fans have been sitting by their computer, laptop, cell phone and tablet wondering what happened to Beth after she was kidnapped at the end of Season 4. After months of waiting, they will finally get some answers on Hershel’s youngest daughter when Episode 4 of Season 5 airs on Sunday.

Beth’s storyline was introduced after Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) took after a car with a cross on the window, believing it would lead them to Beth. The AMC zombie drama Season 5 Episode 3 did not explain what happened next, but it did show Daryl returning to Rick’s group at the end of Episode 3. When Michone questioned him about Carol, Daryl mysteriously told someone in the woods behind him to “come on out.”

According to the synopsis for Episode 4, titled “Slabtown,” another group of survivors will be introduced. While the official AMC episode description does not exactly say the new survivors are somehow tied to Beth’s disappearance, the photos and video clips for the episode give fans their first look at Rick’s lost group member.

This new group will “appear safe and nice,” just like Terminus but, these mysterious folks will have a “dark side” that will soon be exposed.

But how did Beth end up with this new group? Well allow me to explain. The Governor’s (David Morrissey) second attack on the prison forced the group to split up in the second half of Season 4. In the myst of the chaos, Beth and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) were unfortunately separated. But, Beth was able to join Daryl when the walkers began to swarm the prison.

Beth and Daryl ran into a few zombies while on the road together. However, Beth believed they will eventually find the group members while, Daryl gave up all hope. To make things worse, Daryl had to work even harder to protect not only himself but, Beth as well.

In the end, the group would end up bonding over moonshine and opening up with each other. But, the good times would eventually come to an end when Beth accidentally steps in an animal trap. Injured and helpless, the pair was forced to seek shelter at a funeral home in a ccemetery. Fortunately, the funeral home was abandoned, stocked with food and clean water. Things quickly escalate when a group of walkers make their way inside the house. As Daryl tries to fight off the zombies, Beth takes her bag and runs away. He followed her out of the house but, it was too late. Daryl ran out of the funeral home to find Beth’s bag abandoned on the lawn and a car with a cross in the window speeding away. He sprinted after the car, but failed to catch up.

This will be Beth’s first appearance in Season 4 of the “Walking Dead” but many fans have developed theories as to what happened to Beth. Some believed that she was in another train car at Terminus or she ended up on the grill of Mary’s grill. However, those theories ended up proving to be false.

A while back, when they were filming Episode 4 around an old hospital in Georgia, a boom operator on The Walking Dead tweeted, “This Episode 504 is really creepy….cool….and full of new….twists.” He added to another fan, “I so want to tell you about Beth. There’s a lot to say, but…..” Eagle-eyed fans quickly noted that “Slabtown” was a red light district in Atlanta in the 1840s and is now the present site of Grady Memorial Hospital.

We are still unsure at all what they do at this hospital, other than kidnap people. Breeding to repopulate the world? In the trailer they say Beth is “part of a system” and “every sacrifice needs to be for the greater good.” What is the greater good, from their perspective?A while back, The Spoiling Dead Fans shared some spoiler tidbits, saying “The crosses [as in the cross at the back of the car that took Beth] are connected to the hospital,” “Gabriel knows the truth about Terminus,” “Those behind the crosses are similar to the Saviors [of the comics], but they are not the Saviors. The people of terminus are dealing with them, including capturing and shipping people off,” and “Train car ‘A’ stands for arrivals and train car ‘D’ stands for departures.” All stuff to keep in mind as we try to piece the bigger picture together.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 4 “Slabtown” will premiere in a few hours so many of our theories and questions will soon be answered. Luckily for us, AMC released the first few minutes in tonight’s episode.
