Dwayne Johnson had a secret meeting with Vin Diesel after The Rock reportedly called Diesel a “candy ass”.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is currently filming his new movie Fast 8 in Atlanta, Georgia but, sparked controversy when he posted a fiery rant on Instagram bashing one of his co-stars. And we may finally know who The Rock is talking about.
According to reports, production sources told TMZ that The Rock and Vin Diesel, the biggest stars of the Fast and the Furious franchise, met for a “secret meeting” Tuesday on set in Atlanta. The Rock reportedly didn’t agree with Vin Diesel’s decision making as a producer, TMZ reported, as both are producers on the film. The meeting is said to have come after shooting became nearly impossible.
On Monday, Johnson posted a video on Instagram where he took shots at unnamed “male co-stars,” who he called “Candy Asses.”
“Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t… When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling—you’re right.”
The comments didn’t go over to well with the cast and crew of Fast & Furious, with some saying it was “out of line”, according to TMZ.
This is huge news as filming for Fast 8 is nearing an end. Sources didn’t say whether or not the two actors and producers came to an agreement.
However, it’s important to point out that this is not the first time that Vin Diesel reportedly didn’t get along with the cast and crew of the Fast & Furious franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vin Diesel was “difficult” on set of Furious 7. Sources close to THR said Diesel proved to be “extraordinarily difficult.”
As a producer, he is said to have questioned even small details on elaborate action sequences, often holding up the complex production. He also was known to summon filmmakers to repeated late-night script sessions to make him comfortable with his character and dialogue.
So, it’s not that surprising that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was a little upset by Vin Diesel. It was allegedly not the first time this has happened.
And while this could be spell trouble for the new Fast and the Furious movie, it does make for some good controversy and free promotion for the next feature film in the franchise.
