‘The Mummy‘ Reboot is ramping up production and chooses a director.
The Hollywood Reporter has recently reported that Alex Kurtzman will direct ‘The Mummy’ Reboot. Alex Kurtzman is a writer, producer and director. He is most known for his TV series, ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys’. Kurtzman also helped write the scripts for The Island, Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and J.J. Abram’s Star Trek.
Kurtzman made his directorial debut with ‘People Like Us‘ starring Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks. He is also set to direct the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff, Venom.
Details surrounding ‘The Mummy‘ reboot are being kept secret but will will be an action adventure with an ingredients of horror.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it’s understood that the new Mummy is set in the present and is not a horror play but rather an action-adventure tentpole with horror elements. It also will feature new characters and not rehash previous incarnations. [THR]

It became obvious that he is the perfect choice to be not only one of the narrative engineers of this new vision but its director as well.”
