‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Will Be More “Disturbing”

Date:

We have six more months until the second season of Stranger Things hits Netflix. And, according to the show stars, the second season is going be even scarier than ever before.

“I think this season will be a lot [darker]. A lot more horror oriented,” Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike on the show, explained to Emmy Magazine. “I think people are going to like it more than the first season.”

It is important to note that the first season of the show had plenty of horror scenes. Most specifically centering around the villain of the series, the Demogorgon. However, Wolfhard explained the different challenges the characters face this time around are a lot more “disturbing.” It is hard to tell at this moment if there’s going be more villains, monsters or if the show will do with more adult issues.

Another significant change that is reportedly happening in the second season is that the show will focus more on the back stories of the characters on the show.

“The great thing about this season is you get to see insights into each character on their own,” said Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin. “You’re going to see a lot more into the lives of how the characters are coping with what’s been going on…. They’re all very emotionally scarred. They feel alone because their best friend is back and he’s not acting like their best friend anymore. He’s changed.”
