Statue of Harvey Weinstein and His ‘Casting Couch’ Appear in Los Angeles

A statue of Harvey Weinstein statue appeared in at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on Thursday.

Created by street artists Plastic Jesus and Joshua “Ginger” Monroe, the statue is meant to show the darker side of Hollywood. “For many years the exploitation of many hopefuls and established names in the industry was brushed under the carpet with their complaints of harassment and sexual abuse being ignored or worse. Hopefully, now in the light of recent allegations against many leading figures in Hollywood the industry will clean up its act.”

The appearance of the statue comes just a few days before the 90th Annual Academy Awards.
