Chris Rock announces that he will run for President in 2020.
Comedian Chris Rock announced on Twitter that he’s interested in running for President in the 2020 race for the White House.
“I’m gonna run in 2020 wish me luck,” Rock tweeted on Thursday, two days after Republican candidate Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential race to become 45th president of the United States.
However, it is hard to tell if Chris Rock is joking or being serious. He could also be announcing a sequel to his 2003 comedy Head of State, as the comedian used the movie poster from the film to make the announcement.
Head of State featured Chris Rock as Mays Gilliam, a Washington, D.C. alderman who is chosen as the sacrificial candidate in what’s considered to be an un-winnable election, only to find himself the winner in the end.
Should Chris Rock actually run for President, he will be going up against some staunch celebrity competition as rapper Kanye West announced his plans on running in 2020 last year.
