Plus Sized Model says doctors ignored her cancer symptoms
A plus sized model was secretly battling cancer symptoms and she says her doctors ignored all the signs because of her weight. Several physicians had even sent the plus sized model, Elly Mayday home with only painkillers after several trips to the hospital.
The 27-year-old model says she had “severe, persistent lower back pain” and went to the emergency room for treatment several times. But, physicians told her “there was nothing to worry about,” People magazine reports.
In fact, physicians blamed the Canadian plus sized model’s weight instead of the cause of the pain. “The doctor told me to work out my core,” said the model. After deciding to “help herself” and “demand better care” a CT scan showed an ovarian cyst. Sadly, a biopsy showed that she was suffering from a rare form of ovarian cancer. She would later have to go through chemotherapy and undergo surgery. After nine hours of surgery, surgeons were able to remove the cyst.
