Pennsylvania increases their tax credits to 30%.
Georgia’s film industry is booming thanks in part to the film tax credits. But, other states are looking to compete in the film industry by boosting the amount of filming incentives. One of the latest states to compete in the film industry is Pennsylvania.
According to Variety, Pennsylvania will increase the film tax credits up to 30%.
From Variety:
Producers who come to Pennsylvania have a lot of financial lures to chase, including a 25% transferable tax credit on both above-the-line and below-the-line workers. The credit can be further boosted by 5% if a production uses qualified production facilities and meets minimum staging requirements.
However, the biggest difference between Pennsylvania and Georgia’s film tax credit system is that Pennsylvania caps the amount of money in the program to $65 million. While, Georgia’s film tax credits is currently uncapped.
Some of the biggest movies have filmed in Pennsylvania including Mindhunter, Fences, Creed, Southpaw and Will Smith’s Concussion.
