Super Mario Kart Movie Coming Soon?

Date:

Nintendo is thinking about getting into the movie business.

Nintendo is currently looking for opportunities outside of gaming. The Japanese company is reportedly considering getting into the movie business. According to a Nintendo spokesman, Maokato Wakae, the company is looking to create their first major feature film.

Following the company’s sale of the baseball team, Seattle Mariners, Nintendo says projects they are interested in making include 3D animation or “visual content production” using its popular characters.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Nintendo dabbled in movies though, it released a Super Mario Bros movie in 1993 which was largely forgotten and hated by fans and movie critics alike.
