Kanye Releases New Song and Everyone Hates It

Date:

has just released a new song over “Jumpman” beat titled “.”

Just like last year’s Only One release, which was dedicated to his daughter North, Kanye West has once again decided to ring in the new year with a new song, this time around going over a sample of Drake & Future’s “Jumpman” instrumental.

Over the Metro Boomin and Southside , Kanye raps about his relationship with & Nike, while referencing several notable and pop culture such as Steve Harvey, Odell Beckham, and .

You can listen to Kanye’s new song here.

Quotable Lyrics:

Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, they line up for days
Nike out here bad, they can’t give shit away
I stuck to my roots, I’m like
I ain’t dropped the album but the shoes went platinum
Every time I talk they say I’m too aggressive
I was out here spazzin’, all y’all get the message?
On the field I’m over reckless, on my Odell Beckham
2020, I’ma run the whole election

But, not everyone is impressed with Kanye West’s new song. In fact, many believe Kanye is struggling to stay relevant. In an article titled, “Kanye West Releases Awful New Song on New Year’s Eve”, the Daily Beast’s Marlow Stern argues that Kanye West is realizing that Kanye West is basically living in Drake’s shadows.”Yeezy feels his throne may be in . After all, the Yeezy Boosts aside, West’s professional 2015 mostly consisted of dropping a bizarre, Jedi-inspired fashion line, a few forgettable singles, joining forces with the flailing , and announcing a pseudo-presidential run at the VMAs.”

And I think Stern is right. Kanye West is only a good rapper when he’s angry or inspired by events and this latest song sounds like a desperate attempt to stay relevant.
