New Massive TV and Film Studio May Be Headed to Atlanta

Date:

A new massive TV and film studio is currently in development in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gov. Nathan Deal and the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office announced in that film and productions in the state generated $1.7 billion in direct spending during the 2015 fiscal year. In fiscal year 2015, 248 productions shot in the state, up from 158 productions in fiscal year 2014. Therefore, it’s not too surprising that entrepreneurs and businessmen are interested in creating a new film studio in East Atlanta.

After Pinewood Studios finished construction in Atlanta, Georgia’s film industry exploded with major motion such as , : Homecoming and Ant-Man. Now, another major may be headed in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to reports, county officials are trying to turn a 165 acre development into a massive TV and film . Officials are working on a deal to development the land which would cost hundreds of millions of dollars and years to build. “The new project could include sound stages and other film and television infrastructure, along with hotels and development,” said Dave Bernd, vice president of economic development for the Covington/Newton Economic Development Authority.

Construction for this new massive film and TV complex could start as early as this September or October, which means new job opportunities for aspiring actors, and even construction workers.

This is just the latest studio plans in Atlanta. EUE/Screen Gems Studios announced that they were expanding the movie studio in Atlanta. According to their press release, the decision comes in response to the continued growth of the film and TV industry in Georgia.
