Filming for Thor: Raganarok was supposed to film in Atlanta, Georgia but it is now filming in Australia.
Filming has already finished on Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol.2 and based on the wrap photos ( photos we cannot legally publish) it looked like an amazing time. Now, production for Spider-Man: Homecoming is underway in Atlanta, Georgia but, did you know Thor: Ragnarok is now filming?
According to Marvel co-president, producer, director, and possible coffee runner, Louis D’Esposito, filming is now underway in Australia.
Best of luck to @TaikaWaititi and the whole cast and crew of #ThorRagnarok . July 4 they started filming. Australia is in the future.

Why is Thor: Ragnarok filming in Australia?
This news comes as Australia announced their 40% film tax incentive program. It was originally reported that Marvel’s Thor sequel was going to film in Atlanta, Georgia. However, it was recently revealed last week that Marvel’s Thor film franchise sequel, Thor: Ragnarok will be filmed in the Gold Coast with no reports suggesting that Thor will be returning to the ATL. In addition, Australia government officials announced the new Alien reboot will also be filmed in Queensland, Australia.
However, it is also likely that Marvel wanted to make use of Pinewood Atlanta Studios for their next two big movies Black Panther and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) and features Marvel veterans Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk alongside Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster and Karl Urban as Skurge. It is set for release on November 3rd, 2017.
