$100,000 worth of film equipment was stolen from a movie set in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, a film crew lost $100,000 worth of film equipment when thieves broken into their SUV last week. Atlanta Police responded to the back of a parking lot of the Paris at Ponce Antique Mall just before midnight Thursday. They found a large white SUV that had been broken into. No one appeared to be injured. Officers told FOX 5 News the vehicle was being used by a movie crew and was filled with equipment.
Two years ago, Georgia beat California and now reigns supreme as the location with the most feature films filmed in the world. Following the passage of a film tax credit in 2002, the state has created a multi-billion dollar film industry with several hit TV shows and movies filming in the state including The Walking Dead and Stranger Things, and films such as Baby Driver and Fast Five.
