Atlanta Film Crew Worker Murdered

Date:

This summer, Fox 5 reported that Georgia film crew worker Joseph Livolsi, was found dead inside his apartment in Atlanta. Police say he was shot multiple times by an unknown murderer.

Livolsi just finished working on Rampage starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and was in town working on Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Livolsi had worked on some of the biggest movies in Hollywood including Minority Report, the Pirates of the Carribean sequels, Spider-Man 3The AvengersFurious 7Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War.

While production started on the new Godzilla: King of Monsters people became concerned when he did not show up to work.

We started making phone calls, a lot of people got in the loop and no one could reach him,” said friend Eric Cook told reporters. “A couple of days went by and it was really at that point we had tried everything and we were running into dead ends, so it was a little alarming at that point.”

He added, “Real stand up guy… there’s nothing bad you can say about Joe, everybody loved him.”

Now, according to the AJC, the alleged killer had a long criminal record. Delvin Gates was charged with murder last September after Livolsi’s body was discovered in his apartment on Candler Road near I-20. In addition, Livolsi’s Xbox was missing.

Gates, who is 17-years-old, was reportedly known around Atlanta’s West End neighborhood, whose residents said he had a reputation for “terrorizing” the community.

“He was just terrorizing us. Every house, every other block almost,” said resident Kimberly Parmer told the AJC. “The level and extent and frequency of the crimes, we went through so much with him.”

Since 2015, Gates had reportedly been involved in burglaries, auto thefts, snatch-and-grab robberies and other crimes.

That said, Gates is innocent until proven guilty. In fact, Gates’ attorney say the charges rest on “hearsay statement of one individual.”
