Kid Cudi‘s recent Netflix TV special, ‘ENTERGALACTIC,’ was received very well by audiences and critics alike.
Kid Cudi is an American musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. He first gained major attention after the release of his debut mixtape A Kid Named Cudi (2008), which caught the attention of Kanye West. West subsequently signed Cudi to GOOD Music—as a solo artist recording under the stage name KiD CuDi—and subsequently became a close collaborator, co-writing and co-producing songs together. Cudi’s debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day (2009) was later certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In 2010, he released Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, which debuted at number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and contained “Erase Me” and “Mr. Rager”, which peaked respectively at numbers 62 and 37 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Cudi’s acting debut was in an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, where he played a small role as Adrian Pimento’s partner. He has since appeared in several more episodes of the show. In 2016, Cudi played a recurring role in the HBO series, Westworld.
In March 2020, it was announced that Cudi had been cast as Scott “Scotty” Mescudi in the upcoming biopic about his life, entitled Man on the Moon. The film will be directed by Shia LaBeouf, who also wrote the screenplay.
Cudi has sold over 5 million records worldwide. He has won several awards, including two Grammy Awards, one BET Award, one MTV Video Music Award and one Satellite Award. In 2010, Complex magazine named Cudi one of the most influential hip-hop artists of the last decade. In 2017, Cudi was included on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.
Kid Cudi has announced that he is writing scripts for two new movies.
