Jamie Foxx hugs the father of the man saved from burning vehicle.
Jamie Foxx continues to remain humble about heroically pulling a man out of a burning, overturned vehicle on Monday night. But, the driver’s father couldn’t be happier.
The 48-year-old actor shared a photo with his million followers on Tuesday night hugging 32-year-old Brett Kyle’s dad as the man cried on Foxx’s shoulder.
“Met the father of the young man from last night today. This is all that matters,” Foxx — who has two daughters of his own — captioned the heartwarming image. “That a man, a son, a brother’s life was spared last night. God had his arms wrapped around all of us… No heroes… Just happy fathers.”
During a press conference outside his home on Tuesday, the Oscar winner told reporters that he was just happy that the driver was okay. “I don’t look at it as heroic,” Foxx said. “I look at it, like, you just had to do something and it all just worked out.”
Kyle’s truck skidded off the side of the road and, after hitting a ditch and flipping over several times, the Toyota Tacoma quickly became a fireball. It eventally came to a stop in front of Jamie Foxx’s home in Hidden Valley, California.
“I told [Kyle] as we were talking, I said, ‘Listen,’ as I’m getting him out, ‘You gotta help me get you out ’cause I don’t want to have to leave you,'” Foxx recalled. “I said, ‘You got angels around you. You have angels around you.’ I kept saying this.”
Kyle, who was arrested after the incident for driving under the influence, was taken to an area hospital to be treated for major injuries.
