James Franco is giving back to the community to teach a high school film course.
The actor announced on social media that he will be teaching at Palo Alto High School.
The actor posted on his Instagram page Friday night that he will be teaching an eight-part film course for high school students. IN the Instagram post, he encouraged students to apply for the class which will be held at Silicon Valley’s Palo Alto High School.
James Franco posted the selfie along with the caption: : “PALO ALTO HIGH SCHOOL – I will be teaching an 8 part film class for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. Sign up NOW!”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, 24 high school students in grades 9 to 12 will learn to produce a film that will ultimately be shown at a film festival. Students, however, must apply online by September 10th with a 200-word essay stating why they would be a good fit for the class and a one-minute video introducing themselves.
The online application also hints at James Franco being the teacher: “The teacher is a very well known director and actor supported by a team of professionals.”
This is not James Franco’s first time working as a teacher. Recently, he taught at NYU and most recently at USC.
