David Lynch is returning to TV with ‘Twin Peaks’ reboot.
On Friday, David Lynch announced that Showtime’s reboot of the cult series was ‘happening again’ after a month long production halt after budget concerns.
In October, Showtime ordered nine new episodes but after Lynch delivered the nine scripts, Showtime realized that production costs increased incredibly and asked for the creator to cut their profits in order to make ‘Twin Peaks’ a reality. Lynch later said no.
But according to Showtime, David Lynch will direct the entire series, “which will total more than the originally announced nine hours.”
‘Twin Peaks’ centers around the story of an awkward FBI agent investigating the murder of a teenager in a small, unusual Washington town, aired for two seasons on ABC and was followed by a movie in 1992, “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.”
